Olá pessoal!
Nessas últimas três semanas tivemos muita coisa acontecendo por aqui! Vou contar 3 delas: um fim de semana sobre a crise na Síria, a festinha de fechamento do ano letivo na escola da Ana e uma programação especial no centro de refugiados.
Hello everyone!
In these last three weeks we had a lot of things happening here! I'll tell you about 3 of them: a weekend about the crisis in Syria, a small end-of-school-year party at Ana's kindergarden and a special program in the refugee center.
No último fim de semana de Maio tivemos um seminário chamado Hope 4 Syria. Ouvimos testemunhos de pessoas que estiveram trabalhando com refugiados na Jordânia recentemente e que trabalharam durante muitos anos com refugiados em outras partes do mundo. Estudamos sobre a cultura e sobre como nos relacionar com os refugiados e tivemos momentos de oração e intercessão pela Síria. Tivemos também um jantar especial (foto acima), em que pudemos experienciar (e saborear!) a cultura árabe!
On the last weekend of May we had a seminar called Hope 4 Syria. We heard testimonies from people who have been working with refugees in Jordan recently and who have also worked with refugees in other parts of the world for many years. We studied about the culture and how to relate to the refugees and we had moments of prayer and intercession for Syria. We also had a special dinner (picture above), in which we could experience (and taste!) the Arabic culture!
Na quarta-feira da semana passada tivemos uma festinha de fechamento do ano letivo na escola da Ana. As aulas só terminam no último dia de junho, mas algumas crianças viajam antes disso, por isso a festinha aconteceu no início do mês. O nome da festa é "Fechamento de Verão", o que é bem engraçado, já que quase todas as crianças estavam de jaqueta e gorro! :) Eles cantaram e dançaram e os "formandos" (que fazem 6 anos esse ano e começam na escola primária em Agosto) receberam um presente!
On Wednesday last week we had an end-of-school-year party at Ana's kindergarden. The classes will only end at the last day of June, but some children travel before that, so they had the party at the beginning of the month. The name of the party is something like "Summer Closure", which is really funny since most children had their hats and jackets on! :) They sang and danced and the ones who were "graduating" (turning 6 this year and starting primary school in August) received a gift!
Estamos quase no verão e os dias aqui são super longos! A foto acima foi tirada semana passada depois das 22:00! Essa semana o sol está se pondo às quase 23:00 e nascendo por volta das 3:30! Daqui alguns dias teremos o solstício de verão, o dia mais longo do ano! :)
It's almost summer up here and days are super long! The picture above was taken last week after 22:00! This week the sun is setting at almost 23:00 and rising at around 3:30! In some days we'll have our summer solstice, the longest day of the year! :)
No último sábado começamos um projeto chamado "Servindo a cidade", no qual nossa base trabalhou em conjunto com igrejas de Hamar para servir a cidade de diferentes formas por algumas horas naquele dia. Eu fui responsável pelo programa com as crianças no centro de refugiados. Fomos informados de que não é permitido evangelizar no local, mas podemos trabalhar com as crianças e demostrar o amor de Jesus por elas de outras formas: dentro do tema "Somos príncipes e princesas", trabalhamos com a construção da identidade, enfatizando o valor de cada criança e como elas são preciosas. Tivemos uma caça ao tesouro, fizemos massinha caseira, cada criança coloriu e decorou sua própria coroa e eles ganharam presentes e pintura no rosto!
Last Saturday we started a project called "Serve the City", in which our base worked together with churches in Hamar to serve the city in different ways for some hours on that day. I was responsible for the children's program in the refugee center. We were informed that it is not allowed to evangelize there, but we can work with the children and show the love of Jesus for them in other ways: in the theme "We're princes and princesses" we worked with building identity, emphasizing the value of each child and how precious they are. We had a treasure hunt, we made homemade playing dough, they colored and decorated their own crowns and got gifts and facepainting!
Nossos planos para o verão incluem uma viagem missionária para a Lituânia em Julho, um festival da Jocum Noruega em Agosto e a festa de 40 anos da nossa base em Setembro! Por favor, orem por nós e para que Deus continue nos guiando em cada passo!
Our plans for this summer include a Missions trip to Lithuania in July, a YWAM Norway's festival in August and our base's 40th year Jubilee in September! Please pray for us and that God will keep on guiding us each step!
