On Blueberries and Grace / Sobre Blueberries e a Graça

Olá!
Hello!

So the other day my friend Helene invited me to go blueberry picking with her family. We had such a cozy moment! While we were there, her uncle Egil told us that the blueberry plants that grow in that forest area would grow by themselves after someone had come and cut down the trees. He said that for a couple of years they would have blueberries there and then they would plant trees again. We spread out to find them and I was left alone with God and my thoughts for a few minute, picking up those delicious treats (Ana was playing with someone else a few meters away!) then it came to my mind: those blueberries were such a beautiful picture of God's grace! Someone had come and taken away the resources from that place and no one had planted or watered anything, but still those beautiful and sweet blueberries were there for us to pick. We didn't do anything to deserve them. All we had to do was to stretch out our hands and pick them up. In the same way, God sent Jesus to die in our place and give us salvation. We didn't do anything to deserve it. We just have to stretch out our hands and pick it up: salvation is right here, ripe and ready! Jesus knocks and we just have to open the door, and let Him wash away our sins!

Back in Grimerud, we had an amazing celebration of our 40th anniversary and it was a moment full of meaning for many of us. We were celebrating not only the date but also the purchase of the whole property we had been renting for many years! It was like crossing the Jordan! And many of the people who came were the people who lived here in the beginning, so we wanted to honor them as our mothers and fathers. They shared this in a meeting some weeks before the event and later that day it came to my mind this idea of washing those people's feet. I kept that in my heart and thought I should share it with one of the leaders. About a week after that the leaders were praying about the event and they also thought about washing their feet, but they were very insecure about doing it, so they asked God to confirm it to them. On that same day I shared with one them this idea that God had put in my heart and they were so happy to get this confirmation. And I was thrilled to see that God had shared His idea with me and used me in this process!

During this event my Dad was here with his wife, and that was also so nice! We had such a great time together!

The DTSes started last Sunday with a special dinner for 150 people! And next Saturday a School of Pioneering and Leadership starts and our base will be packed again!
It is also time for our harvest in the base fields, but we have been having pretty bad weather these last days with a lot of rain, which is terrible for the process. Please join us in prayer that the sun will shine and some wind will blow the crops dry, so we don't lose our harvest. You can also pray that resources will come so I can pay my last month's bills.

All glory and honor to our King Jesus!
Thank you for being in Missions with us! May God bless you and may you live in His fullness!
Love, Marina.
