Loud and clear! / Alto e bom som!

Hi everyone!
These vídeos are from yesterday at the hospital, when they removed the stitches and the plug out of my ear and, suddenly, everything was so loud!
Praise God!
And thank you for your prayers! <3

Oi gente!
Glória a Deus!
E obrigada pelas suas orações! <3

O que importa? / What matters?

NÃO. O que importa NÃO é ser feliz.
E NÃO. Eu NÃO mereço.

NO. Being happy is NOT what matters.
And NO. I DON'T deserve it.

(English follows)

---------------------------------------------------------

We haven't been called to seek happiness.
Seeking happiness is a bottomless pit. You can do everything to try and fill it up, but it will never be full enough. All of us, human beings, are insatiable. We'll always want a little bit more. We'll always think it can still get better.
It is a good thing not to live in mediocrity.
But what does it mean not to live in mediocrity?

Christ calls us to live our lives to worship the Father. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’" (Mark 12:30). Show your love. Worship. "Let every creature praise his holy name for ever and ever" (Ps. 145:21).
Have you ever lived together with someone that seems not to show love for you? God feels the same way when we choose to live our lives without showing our love for Him. Do you know that story: "you know I love you, I don't need to say it all the time or do things to always show you that, if you already know it."? No one likes this, right? God doesn't like it either. Yes, He feels. We were created in His image and likeness and that's why we have feelings ourselves.

Worship. That is what we were created for. For a love relationship with the Father.
Christ teaches us to have an intimate relationship with the Father. When Jesus was on earth he would constantly withdraw from the crowds and seek a quiet place where He could pray and be with the Father. A difficult thing for us - withdrawing from the crowds, stop being social for a while (I mean live social or virtual social!) and spend some good quality time with the Father, with the Creator, the One who made you and knows what is best for you.

Christ calls us to live in altruism - to be a blessing to the other, to love your neighbour as yourself, to go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Don't keep the good news to yourself and your family. Don't be selfish. Why do you pray for God to bless you and your family? Asking for health for you and your family? So that you can be happy? So that you don't have problems? What do you do after you don't have problems? Just sit back and enjoy it?

Thank God that Jesus didn't think like that. He was up there in the glory, but He decided to come down here (instead of sitting back and enjoying it). He decided to go through all He did so He could pay the price for you and for me. So we could be forgiven and set free from all condemnation, which is what all of us actually deserve.

What matters is to live a life worthy of the One who paid a high price for us. To live full of gratitude for what He has done for us and for the "extra" that He gives us everyday - so much more than we need and all totally undeserved.
What matters is to live a life that pleases the Father.
What matters is to obey the calling He has given us: to stop being selfish and seek to be a blessing to the others.

The most interesting of it all is that, right there and then, when you choose to get out of your comfort to bless the other (maybe a stranger that will never be able to give you anything in return) you end up being more blessed than the person you wanted to bless. The logic in the Kingdom of God seems very often to be inverted, but it was Jesus Himself who taught us: the last will be the first, "the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves." (Luke 22:26). Then you will find happiness that doesn't depend on the circumstances. Happiness that comes from inside and not outside. Happiness that is the consequence and not the purpose. Happiness that comes from the fullness of living together with the Only One that can satisfy us. The One that loved us and invites us to be part of what He is doing in the world.

What is it that really matters to you?
